Algonquins Explorers Hotel was home to Sir Archibald de Bacle, the legendary explorer, this hotel takes you on a journey to the four corners of the world with its pirate theme decoration, treasures and surprises aplenty. (Formely know as Thomas Cook’s Explorer hotel)

Standard Rooms

Also called crew rooms can accommodate up to 4 people.

Some rooms have bunk beds which are not suitable for persons over 70KG. Children under 7 years are not permitted on the top bunk.

In this hotel we can also offer rooms catering for 6 and 10 people.

Rooms are equipped with bathroom, separate toilet, telephone, interactive TV with international channels, video games, movies and internet access, safety deposit box, hairdryer and ceiling fan. (Some services payable locally).

Rooms with adapted shower a double and sofa bed available for persons with disabilties.

Recreation and Leisure Facilities

Indoor heated swimming pool with 3 slides 200m2. Opening hours are 8 a.m to 11p.m daily.

There are no life guards on duty and parents must supervise their own children.

Towel rental is available at a cost of €2.00 per towel.

Plantation Restaurant

Open from 07:30 to 10:30.

Continental breakfast buffet which is included in your package will be available in the Plantation Restaurant and includes a large selection of bread, French viennoiseries, hot and cold beverages, cereals, cakes, dairy products.

If you wish a more substantial breakfast you can purchase English breakfast directly in the restaurant where a supplement will apply.

Captains Library

Traditional fare from the great exploring nations of Europe feature on the menu, together with pancakes and French “Crepes”.

A good place to rest after an exhausting day in a 16th century French elegant setting!

Brioche Diore

Open from 8 a.m to 5 p.m serves delicious pastries, cakes, sandwiches and other sweet or savoury treats to take away or to eat on the spot, with a splendid view on the Secret Lagoon Swimming Pool and the wreck of the Seven Seas Raider.

Marcos Pizza

Marco’s serves minute-ready pizzas, with French fries, pastries and ice creams, to take away or to eat on the spot.

Great for a quick and informal bite to eat, or to stave off the munchies when returning after a hard day’s exploring.

Ideal spot to sit and watch the children playing in the 2 level indoor adventure centre.

Smuggler’s Tavern

Open from 5p.m to 11p.m. In a warm and cosy atmosphere enjoy fine ales, wines, cocktails and tasty bar snacks.

Happy Hour every night.

There is a big screen to catch up on the latest sporting events, billiard, dance machine, dart board!


Algonquin’s Explorer is situated in Marne la Vallee .

The transfer time from Paris central is approximately 1 hour by car or 35 minutes by rail . From Charles du Gaulle Airport which is serviced by Air France and Aer Lingus transfer times are approximately 45 minutes by VEA shuttle bus or Taxi or 12 minutes by train.

Situated less than 10 Minutes by complimentary shuttle bus from the Disney® parks and Disney® village & less than 10 minutes by car from the nearby Factory Outlet village and stores.


As there is a limited direct VEA bus service to all Selected / Non – Disney hotels, it is advisable to take the first available VEA coach to the Disneyland Resort Paris from the Airport and to disembark at the last stop which is the bus station.

From there you can take the free shuttle bus which runs very frequently between the station and your hotel.

VEA Shuttle buses depart from the airport every 20 minutes in peak times from 0830 to 1945 daily.

Return journey prices are from €40 per Adult and €32 per Child.


The journey time is approximately 2 1/2 hours and return journey prices are approx from €50 per Adult and per Child.


If you arrive into Terminal 1 (Aerlingus arrivals) or Terminal 3 you will need to first catch the CDGVAL shuttle bus to Terminal 2. The train location is between sub-terminals 2D and 2F.

Inside the train station the ticket office is on the bottom floor and the office is split into 2 sides, one side sells tickets for paris city trains(RER B) and the other side intercity Grandes Lignes trains which includes Disneyland Paris.

When you have purchased your tickets descend to the TGV platform – Journey time is approx 10 minutes to your station Marne la Vallee Chessy.

From there you can take the FREE shuttle bus which runs frequently between the train/bus station and your hotel.

Enjoy hands-free shopping with Disney’s FREE shopping service. Instead of carrying your purchases around with you, leave them at the point of purchase.

You can pick up your purchases after 6 pm at Disney Village as you leave the Parks or at the boutique in your Disney Hotel after 8 pm.

Marne La Vallee shopping outlet

Simply ask the hotel concierge to order a shuttle bus to drive you to the nearby La Vallee village Factory Outlet Stores & Shopping centre. (Round trip: €5 / adult, €2 / child) or take the train or bus from just outside the Disney village.

The Centre is closed on 1st January, 1st May and 25th December. Open: Monday to Friday: 10am – 7pm Saturday and bank holidays: 10am – 8pm (from July to September) -Sunday: 11am – 7 pm.

Guests with Disabilities

Rooms are available for guests in wheelchairs.

These rooms are equipped with larger bathrooms (including handrails and a raised toilet), a door viewer at wheelchair height and a double bed.
